The Presidents Cup features 24 of
the world’s best golfers competing head-to-head in an exciting team match play event. The event matches the best of the United States against the best of a truly International Team on one of the world’s
most prestigious and exclusive golf courses – the Royal Montreal Golf Club of Montreal, Canada.
This is the most exciting of all international
team golf formats, featuring foursomes, four-balls
and final day singles. Elaborate Opening and Closing
Ceremonies begin and end this great event. You
can be there with Gullivers. We are an officially
licensed distributor of The Presidents Cup Tour
and Travel packages and Championship Club Hospitality.
THE FORMAT
The Presidents Cup is a biennial international
match play competition, featuring 12 players from
the United States against 12 players representing
the rest of the world (excluding Europe). Each member of the 12-man
teams must play each day. There are 12 singles matches on the final
day, all of which are played until a result is achieved. No single
matches can be halved. If the overall competition is deadlocked at
the end of the singles play on Sunday, there is a sudden death playoff
between two players – designated in advance by each team

THE TEAMS
THE UNITED STATES TEAM
The US Team will be selected and is based on the Top 10 money earners
from the previous PGA TOUR season. U.S. Team captain will also have two
choices to add to his team to make up the required 12 players of the
U.S. Team.
THE INTERNATIONAL TEAM
Ten members of the International Team will be selected based on the Official
World Rankings of Golf. The International Team Captain will have two “Captain’s
Choices” to compliment his team of 10, thus making a total of
12 players.
All Gullivers’ travel packages include Championship
Club accreditation/membership.
ROYAL MONTREAL GOLF CLUB
The Royal Montreal Golf Club was founded November 4, 1873. It was the first golf club in North America. It is located in Île-Bizard, Quebec, which is part of the city of Montreal. The Royal Montreal Golf Club hosted the Bell Canadian Open from September 6 - 9, 2001. The Royal Montreal Golf Club has 3 courses. The first is the Blue course (18 holes and the PGA course), the second is the Red Course (also 18 holes) and the third is the Dixie Course (also known as the Black Course and is only a 9 hole course) The Royal Montreal Golf Club was moved from its original location on the island of Montreal to its current location on the island of Ile-Bizard in 1959.
